Our biography

Naira Perdu and Vicente Prieto sat in one piano to play together for the first time in 2011 and were amazed by the natural combination of their two musical worlds. Playing in duo became an addictive and explosive experience and this is how Ikigai Duo was born. Since then they have won several International Competitions in Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Russia. On the last season, they have performed 95 concerts in Europe, playing for more than 50.000 people.
Ikigai Duo is well known for their captivating ways of connecting with the audience and their wide repertoire that goes from Classical to Pop, Rock and Minimalism, very often with arrangements of their own. They consider themselves on a restless exploration of new formats of presenting classical music to a broader audience, through integrity and creativity, launching projects in collaboration with different artists such as illustrators, actors, poets and more recently ballet dancers for their original production of “Swan Lake”.
Both, Vicente and Naira, have studied at the Conservatory of Murcia and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels finishing their Masters with Cum Laude and have received tuition and guidance from great pianists like Aquiles Delle Vigne, Boyan Vodenitcharov, Pilar Valero or Vitaly Samoshko.
Ikigai Duo has performed with several orchestras playing concertos for two pianos by Bach, Mozart and Saint Saëns. They also participated in the “world premiere” of a choreography by Ivan Vassiliev with the prima ballerinas of the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow at Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia.
In 2026 they will be touring with “Momentum”, a concert in which they explore their identity and purpose as musicians through the combination of different styles of music and lighting creation connected to sound and emotion.
Our personal story

It is said that in order to play well with someone, you need to get along on a personal level. We took this very seriously and we got married after 12 years of playing together, but even after that, rehearsing didn’t become any easier…
Maybe it is because of the crazy amount of hours traveling together or because of the frequent contact of our hands while sharing the piano (some composers wrote 4 hands music in order to flirt with their crush…!) that we still manage to keep going despite the challenge of being a personal and professional couple.
Luckily enough, we both fell in love with Brussels and decided to make it our home some years ago. The vibrant artistic world of this city and its people made us reshape our vision of music, moving us to explore other styles and concert formats.
Being able to stay creative and nurturing inspiration with freedom and respect has become a crucial value for us as artists. Following this path, music connects us deeply with ourselves and with you. This is how we found our sense of purpose, our Ikigai.
